The competition is generally sponsored by several companies. This entry to the competition consists of two parts:
- A written submission
- An oral powerpoint presentation.
Written Submission:- The submission consists of eight paragraphs as shown on the entry form see entry form here. The written submission must be supported by a letter of confirmation and commendation from the students supervisor / manager (original, signed and company headed paper). The entry and supporting letter can be emailed.A selection group composed of YINI of 2/3 mentors will short list a number of entries (the number depends on the number of entries received) to give an oral presentation in June at a venue in London. This is a five minute presentation with five minutes for questions from the panel of judges. Powerpoint presentation must not contain hyperlinks and should be saved in Office 97-2003 format.
The students will during their working life be required to give many presentations; in some instances to a small group of work colleagues and in other instances to large audiences e.g. in presenting papers at conferences. Entering this competition is an ideal opportunity to gain further experience and to enhance their cV.
The two winners of the Regional Final will each win a cash prize and go on to the National Finals held in Sept at a venue in London and join 7 other YINI regional finalists.
Finally: We would ask that all trainees keep the dates of the presentations and awards free for their attendance. If they win and do not attend, the prize will be awarded to another candidate.
